Turquoise And Rust, Puna Atacama, Argentina 24x36
At over 17,000 feet near a sulphur mine in the Atacama desert I was planning to photograph the multicolored mountains, when I stumbled across this piece of oxidized metal with splashes of turquoise and veins of cobalt lying in the sand. The blue, probably vanadium, formed a brilliant contrast to the rust.
