Three Sisters 48x64
Something about these three ancient boulders, formed from sea floor sediment over about 4 million years, reminds me of ties that bind. The moody long exposure begs for contemplation of friendship, sisterhood, family. The Moeraki Boulders are found lying on a stretch of Koekohe Beach on the South Island of New Zealand. Local Maori legend says the boulders are the remains of eel baskets washed ashore from a large sailing canoe, the reticulating patterns representing the remains of the canoe’s fishing nets.
“A sister is one who reaches for your hand and touches your heart” - Unknown
