Alluvial Veins 36x54

$4,000.00

Dede Pickering couldn’t believe that the first time that she saw the alluvial fans in Iceland while flying above the earth in a helicopter. She was instantly drawn to the patters, colors and mystery of how these fans were created. Pickering was amazed at mother nature’s fabulous palette, it looked like the rivers were on fire. She became so immersed in the repetition, and design that sh lost sense of any horizon. Dede felt dizzy but didn’t care because she felt that she had entered another world. The alluvial fans were so unique from anything that she has ever seen before. They resembled trees of life, or human veins, with so many elements colliding together. These braided glacial rivers of water, gravel, sand and sediment create islands and channels as they flow towards the sea. Dede’s eyes were opened to a new way of seeing and believing…from above.

‘Alluvial Veins’ is on Dye Sublimated Aluminum framed in a Black Wood Float Frame.
